air pump has been detailed and installed. below the white service interval counter (in the photo) is the anti run on solenoid. It is a valve which normally vents the absorbtion cannister to the atmosphere. When the ignition is shut off the soleniod is momentarily activated which routes vacuum from the intake manifold to the carb float bowl. This stops fuel flow in the main jet to stop the engine (even if it has hot spots or bad tune job). Thusly named anti run on circuit. carburetor after careful cleaning and inspection, everything works the old heat shield between the exhaust and the carb, to keep the carb from boiling over. most of it is missing
replacement heat shield compared to what was left of the old one. With this shield missing, the fuel in the carb bowl will heat up or boil and may cause a lean condition and pre-detonation leading to overheating of the engine, as a side effect of running the intake and exhaust manifold directly next to each other and the carb mounted directly above the catalytic converter. carb is being test fitted other side of carb showing the new heat shield in place (egr valve is above the carb)
heat shroud and air cleaner are fitted oil dipstick and oil filter installed gulp valve is in place (forward from the egr valve)
